As reported by the Ministry of Health, the patient sought hospital care in March. Several months prior, she had suffered an injury from a fall, hitting her neck and head. Later, after physical exertion, she experienced severe neck pain and weakness in her arms. Doctors diagnosed spondylodiscitis — a dangerous inflammation of the spine with tissue destruction.
Neurosurgeons carried out a multi-stage operation. They removed the damaged parts of the vertebrae and replaced them with implants. After treatment, the patient was able to move again. Her recovery is currently ongoing.
