Honored RSFSR coach Vyacheslav Vaneev has passed away.
Honored Coach of the RSFSR Vaneev Vyacheslav Georgievich has passed away. He dedicated his life to the development of cross-country skiing in the Kirov region and Russia.
Vyacheslav Georgievich was born in 1936 in Kirov and devoted over five decades to sports. Vaneev was a mentor to many outstanding athletes who brought fame to the country on Russian and international stages—Yuri Skobov, Lyudmila Baranova, Lyudmila Mashkovtseva, and others, according to the Kirov Region Ministry of Sports.
The coach’s contribution to the development of physical culture and sports has been recognized with numerous awards and honorary diplomas. In 2013, Vyacheslav Georgievich received the Kirov City Honorary Badge "For Merits to the City," and in 2021, he was named an "Honorary Citizen of Kirov."
