For residents of the villages of Studenets, Podbornye, and Udalovshchina, the hanging bridge over the Bystritsa is the only way to reach work, the nearest shops, and social institutions. Especially in spring and autumn when the road through the field muddies.
The local residents themselves monitored the condition of the bridge. However, after 30 years, the structure fell into an emergency state, making it unsafe to use.
According to the Kirov regional branch of the ONF, people repeatedly appealed to the city administration, but received confused responses: some said the bridge was municipally owned, others claimed it was unclaimed.
Only after contacting the prosecutor’s office was it revealed that the bridge is indeed municipal property. The responsibility for its condition lies with the October District Tour Management, but no repair measures have been taken.
The Kirov Regional People's Front noted that a demand has been sent to the head of the October district management to bring the bridge into proper condition.
