In Kirov, the pensioner did not fall for the scammers' tricks.
On June 30th, an elderly resident of Kirov received a call from strangers on his landline. The scammers tried to convince the pensioner that his son had been in an accident and, to resolve the problem and avoid liability, he needed to transfer money to cover the damages. Learning during the conversation that the Kirov resident had about 900,000 rubles, the fraudster insisted on transferring the money. However, the pensioner, aware of various scams, did not fall for the trick and contacted the police.
An investigation is currently underway, and a final decision will be made based on its results. Kirov residents are warned not to ignore their elderly relatives; instead, they should explain to them the ways various scams are carried out.
