Kirov residents do not want to receive their salaries in digital rubles.
Only 6% of Kirov residents are willing to receive their salary in digital rubles — according to data from the SuperJob research center. Of them, 2% are willing to receive the entire amount in the new format, while 4% prefer only a part.
Despite statements by Anatoly Aksakov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Financial Market, about full technical readiness for the introduction of the digital ruble, Kirov residents remain skeptical of the initiative. 71% of respondents oppose receiving salaries in the new form. The main reason is fear of losing access to funds in case of technical failures.
Men, according to the survey data, are more open to innovations: 9% of men are willing to receive their salary in digital rubles. Among women, only 4% support this format.
Differences in attitudes towards digital currency also depend on income level. Among Kirov residents with a salary of 100,000 rubles or more, 10% are ready to switch to digital rubles, but 75% of them are strongly opposed.
The digital ruble is a new form of Russian currency being developed by the Central Bank. It is intended for transactions in a special electronic wallet and, according to the regulator's plan, should increase transparency and security of operations.
