In Kirov, the old facade is peeking out from under the new plaques.

According to the regional government, the decision of the Kirov City Council to rename several city streets has come into effect. Today, July 1st, the process of replacing old signs with new ones has begun in the city. In particular, new signs have been hung on buildings located on Karl Liebknecht Street near the regional government building. From July 1st, this street has been named Defender of the Fatherland Street.

As noted by Kirov City Council deputy Daniil Mamin, new indicators with two design options were developed for the new names of the old streets: one for the central part of the city and another for more modern developments.

To replace the old signs, the city council deputies approved a budget allocation of 3.9 million rubles.

However, those who designed the new signs overlooked the fact that they are smaller in size than the old ones. Now, the new street names adorn the worn-out facades that were not painted during the renovation, under the old signs.
