A new scam scheme under the guise of job offers has been uncovered.
A scheme has been uncovered in which fraudsters post attractive job openings—such as personal assistant or executive assistant—on employment websites. They quickly "approve" the candidate and sign an employment contract with them. Then, via messengers, they assign simple tasks to simulate a work process. After a few days, the "manager" urgently asks for help—transferring money to specified details to buy medicines for their parents or to pay via a link—promising a reimbursement once they return from a business trip. After the transfer, the fraudsters either demand more money or simply disappear and block all contacts, according to the volga.news portal.
Experts warn that before accepting a job offer, it is necessary to verify the employer. Communication should not be limited to messengers—one should find the official company contacts and make sure it really exists. Never transfer money, even if you are promised compensation or reimbursement—a legitimate employer will never make such a request. In addition, it is important to be cautious with suspicious phone numbers, as fraudsters often change them and use fictitious names. If you are asked to pay anything before employment, this is a clear sign of fraud.
