The best heifers of the region were brought to the village near Kirov
The annual regional exhibition of breeding animals was held at the Kirovplem enterprise in the village of Zakharishchevy. More than 50 farms from different districts of the Kirov region took part in it. Visitors could see the best representatives of various cattle breeds, including Ayrshire, Istoben, Hereford and Holstein.
The absolute winner of the exhibition was the heifer Teska of the Holstein breed, presented by the agricultural combine Krasnogorsky. The second place went to a cow named Lavender No. 1175 of the same breed, from Krasnoe Znamya JSC in the Kumensky district.
Among the first heifers of the Ayrshire breed, the Door cow No. 88 from Shvarikhinsky LLC in the Nolinsky district was recognized as the best. The first place among the first heifers of the Istobensky breed was taken by Sulfur No. 704 from the Istobensky mining Complex of the Orichevsky district. Among the heifers of the Hereford breed, participant No. 4010, also from the Krasnoe Znamya farm, won.
In addition to cows, animals from fur farms were also presented at the exhibition: minks of various colors, foxes (including the rare Vyatka ognevka) and a white veiled arctic fox.
According to Alexander Kiselyov, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Kirov region, over the past 20 years, cow productivity in the region has increased by more than 2.5 times, which was facilitated by the improvement of the breeding base and the introduction of new technologies.
The exhibition also became a platform for the exchange of experience between farmers and the discussion of current industry challenges. The event corresponds to the goals of the national project on technological food security.
