
The number of corruption crimes increased by 23% in the Kirov region
A coordination meeting of heads of law enforcement agencies was held at the Prosecutor's Office of the Kirov region, where anti-corruption measures and the effectiveness of interdepartmental cooperation were discussed. The meeting was held on June 19 by the acting prosecutor of the region Dmitry Sherstnev.
As noted during the meeting, the number of registered corruption crimes in the region increased by 23% in the first quarter of 2025. At the same time, the prosecutor's office pays special attention to compensation for damage — in completed criminal cases, this figure reached 98.3%.
The event was attended by representatives of the territorial departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the FSB, the FSIN, the FSSP, the Investigative Committee, the Kirov Transport Prosecutor's Office and other departments. Dmitry Sherstnev stressed that combating corruption remains an absolute priority in the work of the supervisory authorities. According to him, in 2025, the prosecutor's office continued to strengthen control in this area and develop cooperation with law enforcement and audit structures.
Following the discussion, the meeting participants developed a set of organizational measures aimed at improving the effectiveness of anti-corruption efforts, improving investigative and operational activities, as well as coordination between agencies.
