In the Verkhnekamsky district, a woman was bitten by a viper during gardening

      The incident occurred at the end of May this year. The woman was working in the garden as usual, when suddenly she felt a sharp pain in her leg, and then she saw a snake crawling away. Such a meeting came as a complete surprise, because earlier, according to the woman, there were no snakes on the plot: "I was walking between the beds, there were no snakes there before, so I didn't look at my feet. Suddenly, I felt unbearable, burning pain, and I saw a snake crawling away."

      The woman was urgently hospitalized in the Verkhnekamsk CRH, but later, due to complications, the victim was taken to the Center for Traumatology, Orthopedics and Neurosurgery in Kirov, where she received all the necessary assistance, the Center for Traumatology, Orthopedics and Neurosurgery reported.

      "I was admitted to the hospital, and a few days later, as a result of my deteriorating condition, I ended up at the Trauma Center. My leg was all blue, and the swelling was so severe that it reached my stomach. Besides, my hemoglobin dropped a lot. At the Trauma Center, doctors adjusted the treatment – injections, IVs. I feel better today, but I'll have to walk on crutches for a while, because my leg won't bend completely yet," the victim said.

      According to the head of the department, Nikolai Garkavy, the woman was diagnosed with a "bitten foot wound complicated by the toxic effect of snake venom."

      "If you are bitten by a snake, limit the mobility of the affected body part. Drink more water. Not everyone knows that it is absolutely impossible to apply a tourniquet – it will only harm, the tourniquet can compress peripheral nerves, worsen blood circulation in the limb. It is extremely important to seek medical help promptly," said Nikolai Garkavy, head of the department.

      It should be noted that since the beginning of May, this is the third case of snake bite that has occurred in the Kirov region. Earlier, a dog named Damik suffered from a viper. The dog and the owner were walking near the river, where the dog was bitten by a viper.
