The Interior Ministry's specialists analyzed data on calls used by fraudsters to deceive citizens. Most often, attackers pose as representatives of law enforcement agencies and various departments, including the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the FSB, Roskomnadzor and Rosfinmonitoring. Such calls account for about 50% of the total number of cases.

The second most popular among scammers is disguising themselves as employees of financial organizations. Under the guise of employees of the Central Bank and commercial banks, callers scare them by blocking accounts and demanding that money be transferred to so-called "secure" accounts. These cases account for about 30%.

Approximately 10% of calls are related to public utilities. The scammers offer to replace the intercoms and counters, while asking you to dictate the codes from SMS messages. Another 7% of calls allegedly come from the MFC or the Gosuslugi portal — personal information is being lured out of citizens under the pretext of data protection.

About 3% of cases relate to social and insurance services. Here, scammers promise registration of benefits or payments and also require you to provide personal data.
