Deputy Prosecutor found violations in Kirovo-Chepetsk penal colony
Mikhail Legovets, Deputy Prosecutor of the Kirov region, conducted an inspection at colony settlement No. 21 and the correctional center at its base in Kirovo-Chepetsk. The visit took place on June 20.
The inspection affected the conditions of detention of the convicts, as well as the organization of their work. The representative of the prosecutor's office personally talked with the convicts, examined the living quarters, communal and household facilities. He came to the conclusion that, in general, the basic conditions for the maintenance of people are provided.
However, the inspection showed that there were violations of legislation in the institutions concerning both material and household provision and labor rights of convicts. All this was discussed at a meeting with the leadership of the Federal Penitentiary Service. Based on the results of the inspection, the prosecutor's office will take the necessary measures.
