In order to increase safety at crossings, railway workers continue to implement a comprehensive program. It includes regular monitoring of the technical condition of facilities, their repair, modernization and equipping with additional security systems.
Special attention is paid to prevention. In the first five months of 2025, GZHD employees, together with the transport police, conducted more than 800 raids. During the events, drivers were reminded of the rules for crossing the railway — in total, more than 88 thousand motorists were covered by the information.
On June 5, the Gorky Highway joined the International Day of Drawing Attention to Railway Crossings. On this day, preventive raids took place at crossings in the villages of Doskino, Lukino, Seima, Uzhovka and Volodarsk in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Motorists were given mementos and souvenirs, as well as reminded of the importance of observing traffic regulations when crossing paths.
Among the repair and modernization works carried out are crossings at Petryaevka station, Fedoseenko and Novye Peski streets, as well as in the Dubravny settlement of Nizhny Novgorod. In addition, the upgrades took place in Chicherevo, at Balakhna station and the Shemanikha – Usta stage.
The railwaymen remind us that even one violation at a crossing can turn into a tragedy. It is important for drivers to be attentive and strictly follow the rules of the road.
