A stadium with millions of investments, but without water: in Kirov, young football players still cannot wash after training

The Trudovye Reservy stadium has showers, bathrooms and a modular building with locker rooms — everything you need for comfortable training. However, neither water nor sewerage are connected to these premises. The problem has been going on for several years and still has not been resolved.

The parents of the young athletes have repeatedly contacted officials and then contacted the president directly. After that, the situation was taken over by the Popular Front, which took control of it. The activists conducted an inspection and found out that investments in the stadium's infrastructure are continuing, but the basic conditions have not been provided.

So, in 2021, 65 million rubles were allocated from the federal budget for the improvement of the football field and running tracks. In 2023, a modular building with changing rooms and a sanitary complex was built for 7.5 million rubles. It was also planned to allocate another 70 million rubles to bring the facility in line with the standards of training a sports reserve for the Russian national team.

However, the stadium not only falls short of these standards, but also does not provide basic living conditions. The shower doesn't work, there's nowhere to wash your hands, and the toilet is located outside.

In response to a request from the Popular Front, the Prosecutor's office of the Kirov region announced that connection to the water supply and sanitation networks is planned in 2025. However, more than 6 months have passed since the beginning of the year, and, according to activists, the situation has not moved from the dead end.

"We know that this year it is planned to transfer the stadium from municipal to regional ownership. We have sent an appeal to the Ministry of Sports to clarify whether the work on connecting to communications will be included in the budget for next year," said Alexander Chulkov, an expert at the Popular Front.

In the meantime, training continues as before: children play on a modern field, change clothes in new locker rooms — and go home just to wash up.

A stadium with millions of investments, but without water: in Kirov, young football players still cannot wash after training

Tens of millions of rubles have been invested in the Trudovye Reservy stadium in Kirov since 2021, and locker rooms and bathrooms have been built. But all this is still not connected to the water supply and sewerage. More than 600 children playing football here are forced to go to the toilet outside and go home unwashed.
