In Kirov, five residents were convicted for cooperating with a Ukrainian NGO

      In Kirov, five local residents were found guilty of participating in the activities of one of the Ukrainian non-governmental organizations, which is included in the list of undesirable on the territory of the Russian Federation. According to the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the defendants involved other citizens in the work of the structure, as well as collected and sent funds to Ukraine.

      The illegal activity was suppressed as a result of the joint work of the regional departments of the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The operatives established that the group was operating in the city of Kirov and was actively working to raise funds for a Ukrainian organization banned in Russia.

      The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Kirov region has opened a criminal case under Article 284.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on the organization and financing of the work of a foreign NGO deemed undesirable. The criminal case was investigated and brought to court.

      The Leninsky District Court of Kirov found all five defendants guilty. The organizer received a suspended sentence of 1 year and 7 months in prison with a probation period of 3 years. The rest of the participants are assigned compulsory work. The verdict has not entered into legal force at the moment.
