The pensioner from Kirov lost more than 35 thousand rubles, having believed the "investor" in the messenger
A criminal case has been opened in Kirov on fraud against a 75-year-old man. According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Kirov region, a stranger wrote to the pensioner in a messenger and offered to help him earn additional income through online investments and investments in cryptocurrency.
Fearing deception, the Kirov resident initially transferred only 9 thousand rubles through a bank application. However, the attacker did not stop there. During the conversation, he found out that the man had an account with another bank, and convinced him to install another banking application. Next, he insisted on a video call with a demonstration of the screen — as a result, he gained access to the details of the electronic wallet displayed on the phone screen.
After that, the fraudster wrote off all the funds from the pensioner's card in three stages — more than 35 thousand rubles.
An investigation is currently underway into the incident.
The police remind you again: do not correspond with strangers in instant messengers, do not share personal information and do not show the phone screen, especially if you are not sure about the interlocutor. Also, you should not invest without sufficient experience and knowledge.
