A planned fight against hogweed has begun on the highways of the Kirov region. The work is carried out by Vyatavtodor in nine districts, including Slobodskoy, Kirovo-Chepetsky, Omutninsky and others.
The plant is mowed daily both manually and with the help of machinery. In addition, the thickets are treated with special chemicals.
At the moment, more than 76 hectares of roadsides have already been treated with herbicides. The work will continue throughout the summer.
The sections along the roads are under the jurisdiction of the road services, and local administrations are responsible for the rest of the territory. The authorities of the region called on municipalities to actively eliminate the foci of growth of hogweed.
