Kirov residents were reminded of the rules for obtaining a tax deduction for long-term savings
The Office of the Federal Tax Service for the Kirov Region reminded residents of the region about the right to a tax deduction for long-term savings programs. This right is granted to officially employed citizens who participate in the program and for whom personal income tax is paid.
You can get a deduction for contributions paid under non-state pension provision, under long-term savings agreements with a non-state pension fund, and for investments in an individual investment account opened in 2024. All three types of deductions are added together, but the total refund limit is limited to 400 thousand rubles per year. Depending on the amount of a citizen's income and the income tax rate, the refund amount can reach 60 thousand rubles per year.
To receive a deduction, it is necessary that at least five years have passed since the conclusion of the contract, if the contract was signed in 2024-2026. This minimum period increases annually, and from 2031 it will be 10 years. In addition, it is important to take into account the age at the time of signing the contract. For example, women are not allowed to deduct if they are already 50 years old, and men are not allowed to deduct if they are 55.
Starting in 2025, the deduction can be obtained in a simplified manner without filing a declaration — through the taxpayer's personal account on the FTS website, provided that the fund has provided all the data on contributions on time. It is also possible to apply for a deduction through an employer or file a declaration in person, through the MFC or online.
If the long-term savings agreement is terminated before the deadline, the deduction will have to be refunded. Also, during the term of the main agreement, no more than two additional agreements can be concluded with other funds, except in cases of transfer of savings.
