According to Kirovstat, our region ranks 10th in Russia and 4th in the Volga Federal District in terms of milk production. The main milk producers in the region are still agricultural organizations: in 2024, they accounted for 96.2% of the gross milk yield. Cows of the Kumensky, Orichevsky, Zuyevsky, Orlovsky and Sovetsky districts of the Kirov region gave the most milk.
"The increase in gross milk yield is mainly due to an increase in cow productivity. 8,967 kilograms of milk were produced per burenka: 387 kilograms more than in 2023," Kirovstat reported.
The ministry noted that in the Volga Federal District, in terms of milk yield per cow, by the end of 2024, the Kirov Region entered the top three, losing to the Penza Region and the Republic of Mari El.
