Kirov farmers increase the pace of spring field work
Spring field work in the Kirov region is in full swing. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, this year farmers entered the fields earlier than usual, and the volume of work performed is already significantly ahead of last year's level.
Winter grain crops were fertilized on an area of almost 45 thousand hectares. Perennial grasses also received additional nutrition on 77 thousand hectares, which is more than in 2024. Harrowing work is also progressing, both in the winter and on winter and perennial grasses.
The sowing campaign is also active. Spring crops are sown on almost 70% of the planned area. The main share is occupied by cereals and leguminous crops. In addition, annual grasses, rapeseed and oilseed flax continue to be sown in the region. Potatoes and vegetables are also being planted, and several hundred hectares have been cultivated to date.
