40 thousand flowers will appear in Kirov

      A large-scale flower planting has begun in Kirov. According to the press service of the city administration, specialists of the landscaping directorate have already started updating flower beds and flower beds. This year, about 40 thousand annual plants have been purchased, as well as several thousand flowers will be planted by local governments, enterprises and residents themselves in the adjacent territories.

      The floral decoration of the city this season is timed to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Victory. Red shades prevail in the memorial areas, while in other parts of the city a combination of blue, light blue, white and pink colors is used.

      "We plan to try new options — a fluffy and elegant plant will appear on the Green embankment. We are still planting petunias and geraniums, which are beloved by the townspeople — there are many positive reviews about them," said Svetlana Kekina, Deputy head of the Department of Environmental Protection and Green Construction.

      Mobile gardening is also actively used. Flower balloons are installed on Oktyabrsky Prospekt Boulevard, near the Spassky Cathedral and the Philharmonic Hall. Thanks to the double wall of such structures, a favorable temperature is maintained inside, which is especially important in the heat.

      In addition, cubes and large pots, in which both annual and perennial plants and shrubs are planted, began to be displayed on the streets of the city. The first elements have already appeared on Preobrazhenskaya Street, and in the near future they will be installed on Spasskaya, Vorovsky and Karl Marx streets.

      All landscaping work is scheduled to be completed by June 11.
