Kirov resident gave 380 thousand to scammers, believing in the story about the counters
A 56-year-old resident of Kirov became a victim of fraud, having lost 380 thousand rubles. It all started with a message in the messenger, allegedly from an employee of the municipal service. The woman said that it was necessary to replace the water meters, and asked to confirm the visit of the master with a text message code from Gosuslug.
Immediately after that, the Kirov resident received a call from a man who introduced himself as an FSB officer. He stated that transfers abroad were allegedly made on behalf of the victim and loans were issued. To avoid criminal liability, the man was offered to transfer all his funds to a "special account."
Following the instructions, the resident transferred all his savings through an ATM. Later, the scammers continued to call him, but the Kirov resident already realized that he was being deceived.
The police opened a criminal case. Law enforcement officers are now identifying the suspects.
