Every second resident of Kirov would like to replace deputies with artificial intelligence
Russian Minister of Digital Development Maksut Shadaev believes that artificial intelligence can take over the functions of about 50% of civil servants. Thus, according to the survey results, 52% of Kirov residents positively perceive the prospect of introducing AI into government structures. 21% of them are definitely positive, while 31% are rather positive. According to Kirov residents, AI will be able to analyze data objectively and without errors, and in this way it is possible to reduce the level of corruption.
48% of Kirov residents, on the contrary, do not support this idea. They believe that everything depends on how AI is programmed, and technology is not yet ready to completely replace humans.
To date, 52% are positive that AI will begin to displace lawmakers: "This is a step towards direct electronic democracy," however, 47% oppose replacing live deputies with algorithms.
Interestingly, men are more likely than women to approve of the prospect of replacing officials and deputies with AI algorithms. The idea of digitalizing the function of civil servants is more supported among respondents under the age of 35, and among citizens aged 35-45, the idea of replacing State Duma deputies with AI algorithms is more supported.
