On Saturday, May 17, an athletics relay race will be held in Kirov. It will be dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, and will also mark the opening of the summer sports season. Participants will run along the route from the Theater Square to the monument "Kirov Residents to the front" and back. The organizers expect that more than 1.5 thousand people will take part in this sporting event.
Due to the competition on May 17, temporary transport restrictions will be introduced in the city. From 7 to 12:30, traffic will be completely stopped along Derendyaeva on the section from Moskovskaya to Preobrazhenskaya. Oktyabrsky Prospekt from Preobrazhenskaya to Trade Union Street will also be closed.
The operation of public transport will also change. Some bus and trolleybus routes will be temporarily adjusted.
