Starting from April 17, 2025, the calculation of CTP for motorcyclists will change.

Starting from April 17, 2025, changes in the procedure for calculating the cost of the CTP policy for owners of motorcycles, mopeds and light ATVs will come into force in Russia. This was reported by the Russian Union of Motor Insurers (RSA).

In particular, a power factor will be introduced for this category of vehicles, which was previously applied only to passenger cars. At the same time, the coefficient value for motor vehicles will be higher than for passenger cars.

In addition, the coefficients related to age and driving experience will change. For motorcyclists with extensive experience and age, the values will be reduced, while for young and inexperienced drivers, they will be increased. Such measures will not affect other categories of vehicles for which the calculation of coefficients will remain the same.

As noted in the RSA, the main reason for the innovations is the increase in accidents involving motor vehicles. Over the past few years, the average amount of damage caused by motorcyclists has increased by 32%.

Regular review of tariff coefficients is carried out by the Bank of Russia based on the analysis of CTP statistics. This makes it possible to more accurately compare insurance risks with their cost, the RSA emphasizes.
