Dog walking grounds to be built in Kirov

      The issue of organizing special zones for walking pets was discussed at a meeting of the deputy commission on transport, housing and communal services, ecology and life safety in Kirov. Representatives of the Department of Urban Economy reported on the progress of the project preparation and clarified the list of territories where such sites will appear.

      To date, there is only one official site in Kirov — in Kochurovsky Park. However, as early as 2025, it is planned to equip new zones in the parks named after S. M. Kirov, Yu. A. Gagarin, on Podgornaya St., in the area of the recreation center "Zarechny" and in the park on Rukhlyadeva St. in the Novovyatsky district. One site will be built in Oktyabrsky and Novovyatsky districts.

      Some disputed areas were excluded from the preliminary list, including the Clog ravine and the square at the intersection of Kalinin, Pugachev and Melkombinatovsky Streets. The list includes a site at the intersection of Nekrasov and Pugachev streets, next to the Cosmos Recreation Center.

      As Dmitry Kuzmin, acting head of the department, noted, the average cost of creating one site is more than 1.2 million rubles. The project will be implemented in stages. All estimates are planned to be completed by the summer, after which the search for financing will begin. The work should be completed before the end of the construction season.

      The deputies stressed the need to take into account the interests of not only animals, but also their owners — benches and other amenities should be provided on the sites.
