The T-54 tank will be updated in the Kirov region to mark the 80th anniversary of the Victory.

By the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, 77 memorials will be put in order in the Kirov region. The work covers the entire region and includes the renovation of monuments, including in the form of military equipment. In the village of Darovsky, for example, the T-54 tank, the ZIS-3 cannon and the ship's anchor installed in the center of the village near the memorial to the fallen soldiers-countrymen will be restored.

Governor Alexander Sokolov instructed to complete all the work by May 9th. Municipalities, public organizations and political parties are involved in the project. The initiative is being implemented as part of a program launched by the Kirov regional branch of the United Russia Party.

70 million rubles have been allocated from the regional budget for the implementation of the program. According to Roman Beresnev, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the region, the quality of work is monitored by the secretaries of the local branches of the party and deputies at all levels. Their task is to maintain a constant dialogue with contractors and residents.

"The equipment installed as monuments is especially interesting for children. This is an opportunity to touch history," said Marina Shumilova, a local resident.

Work has already begun in most localities and is expected to be completed by early May. The next stage of the program starts after May 9th. Then it is planned to update the remaining monuments in the region.
