The convicts of the Kirov region presented theatrical productions based on "Son of the Regiment"
The institutions of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Kirov region summed up the results of the All-Russian competition for the best theatrical production based on the work of Valentin Kataev "Son of the Regiment". The competition was organized as part of the Year of Defender of the Fatherland in cooperation with the Moscow Experimental Theater under the direction of V.S. Spesivtsev.
The contest was attended by convicts who are members of theater clubs in penitentiary institutions. They not only studied the novel and the film of the same name in detail, but also independently wrote scripts, prepared costumes, sets and props. The productions were filmed on video, and the participants of the cable television studio mounted the performances, adding special effects to create an atmosphere.
The jury evaluated the acting skills, the expressiveness of speech, the originality of the script, the scenery and costumes, as well as the director's idea and the educational orientation of the productions. The winners were the theater group of the women's correctional colony No. 33 and the members of the circle of correctional colony No. 6.
"This production is not just a tribute to the heroes. This is an attempt to look into the child's heart, to see the war through his eyes. Such contests help convicts to realize themselves, develop their creative abilities and expand their leisure activities," said Vladimir Abramov, Head of the Department of Educational and Social work with convicts of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Kirov region.
