Public services have launched a service for checking and managing SIM cards
From April 1, 2025, a new service called "Sim Cards" is available on the Public Services portal, which allows Russian citizens and foreigners to track the number of numbers issued in their name and, if necessary, suspend or terminate contracts with mobile operators.
This step is part of the fight against fraud, as criminals can use illegally issued SIM cards for various illegal activities. Now, after checking their details, users can make sure that no suspicious or "gray" numbers are registered in their name.
From November 1, 2025, Russian citizens will be able to have no more than 20 SIM cards, and from July 1, 2025, foreigners will be able to have no more than 10. If the number of rooms exceeds the established limits, the operators will suspend service for all numbers.
If the user finds unnecessary or suspicious SIM cards, they can suspend the contract through Public Services and contact the operator to clarify the circumstances. To delete outdated SIM cards, it is enough to submit an application for termination of the contract through the portal, having previously paid off possible debts.
If the telecom operator has not enabled this feature yet, users can contact their office.
