Kirov businessman will pay 31 thousand rubles to the owner of the Singer brand.

      Earlier, the Arbitration Court of the Kirov Region received a claim from Singer Spb LLC. The company demanded to recover 62.5 thousand rubles from the individual entrepreneur for trademark infringement. The plaintiff also demanded compensation for the cost of the purchased disputed goods, postage and other minor expenses related to this case.

      In court, the plaintiff claimed that he is the rightholder of a trademark registered in relation to products such as manicure tools. In the summer of 2023, the plaintiff found out that one of the shops in Murygino was selling manicure tools with his trademark, and came to the conclusion that this was a counterfeit product. The defendant, in turn, did not argue with this and only asked for a reduction in the amount of compensation.

      The court decided to recover 31.2 thousand rubles from the sole proprietor in favor of Singer Spb for copyright infringement, as well as compensation for some minor expenses. The sole proprietor tried to appeal the decision, but the Second Arbitration Court of Appeal upheld it.
