Kirsa residents have been drinking unclean water for years
In the summer of 2024, residents of the Lespromkhoz district in Kirsa faced a problem: the only water column stopped working. Local residents from houses along Svobody and Bolshevik streets took water from it for household needs and drinking.
For 3 months, people waited for help from the local administration, however, they received an answer that the column was unattended, so they were not going to repair it. Because of this, citizens walked with cans for a kilometer to the well on Oktyabrskaya Street. Most of all, they were afraid that the water would disappear from there, as hundreds of people actively used the well. Employees of the Kirov branch of the All-Russian Popular Front came to the aid of local residents. After their intervention, Governor Alexander Sokolov drew attention to the problem. On his instructions, the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services installed a pump on a broken pump, and water appeared.
But that's not all. Despite the fact that people have been drinking water from the pump for years, it does not meet the requirements of the SanPiN. The prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit to provide people with clean water. The court ordered the administration of the Verkhnekamsky district to carry out work on this well. The authorities must do this within 6 months from the date of entry into force of the court's decision, the activists added.
