The Kirov Blood Center has successfully fulfilled the state task of harvesting donated blood and its components in 2024, providing hospitals with everything necessary for planned and emergency medical interventions. The results of the institution's work were summarized at the reporting conference.
Last year, 9,860 liters of whole blood were harvested, and 17,430 donations were carried out. 7,893 people became donors, of which 1,481 were for the first time. This is 5% more than in the previous year. The number of people who received a regional measure of social support for donating blood four times a year increased by 12% (2,218 people).
The inpatient department of the Blood Center in Kirov provided 65% of the blood and its components, 22% were harvested in blood transfusion departments in the regions of the region, and 13% were harvested on site.
In 2024, 863 donors were awarded the badge "Honorary Donor of Russia". A total of 13,086 honorary donors live in the Kirov region.
