More than 30 hectares of regional lands were planted with forest
The Minister of Forestry of the region, Andrey Tetrin, noted that in the Kirov region, reforestation was completed by 111%, and the amount of environmental damage to the region's forest resources was reduced by almost 2.5 times. Within the framework of the regional project "Conservation of forests of the Kirov region", 100% of forest resources are being restored, and in 2024 the plan was exceeded: more trees were planted than lost for various reasons.
The "Forest" minister noted that the planned indicator for forest reproduction within the framework of the regional project in 2024 was 33 thousand 548 hectares. By the end of the year, the planned indicator was fulfilled by 111%. And the plan for the formation of a reserve of seeds of forest plants was exceeded by more than two times and amounted to 3.7 tons.
Andrey Teterin also noted that the ministry is actively working to combat illegal logging, which last year reduced it by almost a quarter compared to 2023, and in comparison with 2022, the amount of environmental damage has been reduced by 2.5 times.
