The incidence of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections is increasing in the Kirov region
During the week in the Kirov region, the incidence of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections increased by 7.22%. This is due to an increase in morbidity among children. The largest increase was recorded among patients aged 0 to 2 years and from 7 to 14 years.
In the age group of 15 years and over, the incidence rate remained at the level of the previous week. The weekly epidemiological threshold has been exceeded both among the entire population and in all age groups.
More than half of all reported cases of influenza occur in children under 14 years of age. In almost all cases, unvaccinated people got the flu.
Laboratory monitoring shows that the incidence is due to both influenza and non-influenza viruses, with a predominance of rhinoviruses. There is an increase in the proportion of influenza viruses, mainly influenza B. The incidence of COVID-19 among the population of the region corresponds to the figures of the previous week, mainly various omicron variants are circulating in the region.
