In Kirovo-Chepetsk, residents of Ganinskaya Street appealed to the president because of the dangerous road
Residents of Ganinskaya Street in Kirovo-Chepetsk, where 16 private houses are located, found themselves in a situation threatening their safety. The lack of sidewalks and street lighting along the roadway creates a huge risk for pedestrians, especially in conditions of winter slipperiness and short daylight hours. Schoolchildren are forced to get to school in the dark by the side of a busy road. Adults, concerned for the safety of children, meet them after school and sew reflective elements on their clothes.
Repeated appeals to the local administration did not bring the desired result. Residents also contacted the prosecutor's office, which confirmed the violation and sent information to the administration of Kirovo-Chepetsk about the need to take action. However, despite the promises, the problem has not been solved yet. The administration acknowledges the impossibility of building sidewalks due to lack of space, but assures that the issue of lighting is completely solvable. At the same time, lampposts have already been installed along the road, but there are no lanterns.
Desperate to achieve justice at the local level, residents of Ganinskaya Street turned to the direct line of the President of Russia for help. Alyona Chesnokova, co-chairman of the regional headquarters of the Popular Front, expressed support for the residents and appealed to the prosecutor's office with a demand to oblige the local administration to resolve the issue of lighting through the court. "If the driver does not see pedestrians, then the risk of an accident increases. Especially since it's very slippery right now. One awkward movement and a person can fall right into the roadway," she stressed.
