The governor of the Kirov region, Alexander Sokolov, ranked 66th out of 89 regional leaders in Russia, dropping 31 places compared to the previous month. In the ranking of heads of regions in the Volga Federal District, Sokolov found himself in 12th place out of 14. Only the heads of Mordovia and Mari El ranked lower than him. According to "Medialogia," Sokolov was mentioned in the media 6,481 times in August. His Media Index was 17,839.1. The first place among the governors of the Volga Federal District was taken by the head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, with a Media Index of 140,755.3. The second place went to the head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov (118,838.6), and the third to the governor of the Samara region, Vyacheslav Fedorishchev (93,953.7). Moreover, by the end of August, Sokolov not only found himself in the lower part of the district ranking but also showed one of the most noticeable declines among regional leaders across Russia. Over the month, the governor of the Kirov region moved from 35th position in the nationwide ranking to 66th. In July, Sokolov held 5th place among the governors of the Volga Federal District. Thus, over the month, he dropped seven places within the district. It should be noted that the media rating is based on the number of media mentions and their influence. The Media Index takes into account the qualitative characteristics of publications and reflects the effectiveness of a person's presence in the media landscape.
