In the second quarter of 2026, the growth of lending in Russia accelerated across all sectors. This was reported by the Bank of Russia.
Thus, lending by banks to Russian companies increased by 3.7%. The most loans were taken by industrial and construction firms.
In terms of mortgage lending, household debt grew by 1.7%. At the same time, growth is observed in the market segment, while the share of preferential mortgages continued to decline (from 68% to 60%).
The volume of consumer loans increased by 2.8%, including due to cash loans. The Bank of Russia believes this may be related to seasonal spending by the population on vacations.
Client funds in banks grew by 2.1%. A more significant increase is expected in the second half of the year, as firms will receive payments under government contracts, and citizens will receive bonuses, which are often given at the end of the year.
As for bank profits, in the second quarter they earned 1.1 trillion rubles. In the first quarter, it was 1.2 trillion rubles.
