In Kirov, a man was sentenced to compulsory labor for failure to pay alimony.
The Prosecutor's Office of the Lenin District of Kirov supported the state prosecution in the criminal case against a 48-year-old local resident. The court established that the man, being of working age, was aware of the court's decision that obligated him to pay alimony for the maintenance of his underage son. However, since mid-2025, he stopped making payments without valid reasons. As a result, the alimony debt exceeded 170,000 rubles. The man had previously been held administratively liable for failing to provide financial support for his child. The court found the Kirov resident guilty under part 1 of article 157 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and sentenced him to seven months of compulsory labor. A portion of the man's earnings will be withheld for the benefit of the state.
