The Central Bank explained when the situation with gasoline in Russia will become clearer.
According to "Vedomosti," advisor to the chairman of the Bank of Russia Kirill Tremasov stated that the situation in the Russian fuel market may become more predictable by October. He shared this information with journalists at the Eastern Economic Forum.
According to Tremasov, a clearer picture will emerge after the October meeting of the Central Bank's board of directors regarding the key rate. He believes that it is premature to draw conclusions about the further development of the situation at this time.
Meanwhile, authorities are taking measures to prevent a fuel shortage. On August 31, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexander Novak instructed the Ministry of Energy and the Federal Antimonopoly Service to strengthen control over prices at independent gas stations.
In addition, the agencies, together with oil companies, are working on distributing fuel among regions. Supplies of fuel and lubricants for agricultural producers are being monitored separately. The government also noted that gasoline is being delivered to northern territories on schedule.
Another solution has been the temporary expansion of fuel sales capabilities at gas stations. From September 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027, the sale of automotive gasoline and diesel of environmental classes K2, K3, K4, and K5 — "Euro-2," "Euro-3," "Euro-4," and "Euro-5" — is permitted.
At the same time, gas stations must continue to inform customers about the environmental class of the fuel.
