In the Kirov region, hundreds of future doctors have taken their seats at the desks.
In 2026, 632 people began their studies at the Kirov Medical College, and another 276 students started their education at the institution's branches in Kotel'nich, Urzhum, Omutninsk, and Sovetsk. At the same time, 183 applicants signed contracts for targeted training.
First-year students will study therapeutic medicine, nursing, obstetrics, dentistry, laboratory diagnostics, and pharmacy.
On Knowledge Day, the college students were congratulated by the Minister of Health of the Kirov Region, Ekaterina Vidyakina. She noted that future medical workers will have updated classrooms, modern medical equipment, and experienced teachers.
The Kirov Medical College is also participating in the federal project "Professionalism" of the national project "Youth and Children." As part of the project, students are trained in the field of "Clinical and Preventive Medicine." The training is conducted using modern equipment and includes a significant amount of practice with shortened preparation times.
The minister urged first-year students not to limit themselves to basic knowledge but to seek out a direction during their studies in which they can realize themselves.
First-year student Lilia Gazizanova from Malmyzh, majoring in "Therapeutic Medicine," has already chosen her professional path. She was helped to decide through career orientation meetings at the local central district hospital, where schoolchildren could learn about various areas of work in the medical institution. In the future, Lilia would like to engage in preventive medicine.
