Hunting for moose opens in the Kirov region.

      In the Kirov region, the hunting season for adult male moose will begin on September 1 and will last until September 30, 2026. The hunting will take place during the animals' mating season and is called "calling" hunting. The Ministry of Forestry of the region notes that this type of hunting requires special training and adherence to established rules. During the mating season, the behavior of moose changes, so drivers are advised to be especially vigilant on the roads. Animals may unexpectedly enter the roadway. A special permit will be required for hunting. In publicly accessible hunting grounds, it can be obtained in Kirov at Nikitskaya Street, 82, at district MFCs, or through the State Services portal. For hunting in designated areas, a permit must be obtained from the relevant hunting user.
