A subcommittee on critical infrastructure security has been established in the government.
The subcommittee has been established within the framework of the government commission on the sustainability of the economy under sanctions. It will coordinate the work of agencies, prepare proposals to enhance the resilience of significant sectors, and monitor their implementation.
Deputy Ministers Manturov have been appointed as Vice Prime Ministers Alexander Novak and Dmitry Grigorenko, as well as Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Anatoly Kontsevoy.
Among the tasks of the new structure are the analysis of the security status of critical infrastructure facilities, the development of measures for their normal operation, monitoring the recovery after disruptions, and reducing the socio-economic consequences of violations.
The existing subcommittee on the sustainability of the financial sector, led by Novak, will continue its work — its measures are strategic in nature and aimed at strengthening the economy in the face of global challenges.
This week, President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on measures for the security of critical infrastructure. The document allows for the temporary management of facilities if the owners do not ensure their protection. Manturov explained that these are targeted measures in the event of terrorist threats, not nationalization or a change in ownership.
