In Kirov, schoolchildren handed over pipes from someone else's construction site for scrap metal.
According to the Interior Ministry, a representative of the construction company contacted the police after discovering the disappearance of pipes from the site where the water supply system was being dismantled.
Criminal investigation department employees identified the suspects and brought them to the police station. They turned out to be schoolchildren aged 16 and 17. According to the police, during a walk, the teenagers noticed the pipes and decided that they belonged to no one.
To transport the metal, the schoolchildren asked for help from an adult acquaintance who arrived in a car. The teenagers convinced him that everything was legal with the pipes, after which they loaded them into the car and drove away.
At the scrap metal reception point, the schoolchildren received 18,000 rubles for 800 kg of pipes. They spent the money on personal needs.
The investigator initiated a criminal case under part 2 of article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - theft committed by a group of individuals by prior agreement. The police continue to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
