A car was stolen from the bank of the Kama River.
The family arrived at the banks of the Kama River near the village of Lavrushata. They left the car unlocked, with the keys in the ignition, and then got into a boat and sailed away. Upon returning after a day, they discovered the theft.
Police identified the suspect and detained him. He turned out to be a 50-year-old man with a prior conviction. He stated that he was resting nearby with friends and, noticing the car, decided to use it to get home.
On the way, the car ran out of fuel, and the thief abandoned it near the village of Peshchera in the Verkhnekamsky district. Later, the car was found by the police. The question of returning the vehicle to its owners is currently being resolved.
A criminal case has been initiated under part 1 of article 166 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (unlawful appropriation of a vehicle without the intent to steal). The investigation is ongoing.
