In the Kirov region, a drunk driver was sent to a strict regime colony.
The Soviet District Court of the Kirov Region issued a verdict against a previously convicted driver. The man was found guilty of repeatedly driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. The incident occurred on the night of November 2, 2025. According to the court, the driver got behind the wheel again despite his previous convictions, including for driving under the influence. At the stop, the traffic police officers were unable to determine the driver's state of intoxication. Therefore, the inspector suggested that the man undergo a medical examination at the Soviet Central District Hospital. However, the driver refused to comply with the lawful request of the traffic police officer. When determining the sentence, the court took into account the man's unexpunged convictions for intentional serious crimes and the presence of recidivism. As a result, the driver was sentenced to one year of imprisonment. He will serve his sentence in a strict regime correctional colony. In addition, the man was banned from engaging in activities related to driving vehicles for three years. After the verdict was announced, the convicted man was taken into custody in the courtroom. The verdict has entered into legal force.
