The Prosecutor's Office of the Orichevsky District supported the state prosecution in the criminal case against a 31-year-old local resident. He was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 157 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (failure to pay maintenance for minor children).
The court established that the man, knowing about the court's decision to collect alimony for the support of his son and daughter, intentionally did not pay the money without valid reasons. The debt for the period from August 2023 to May 2025 amounted to almost 500,000 rubles.
The court took into account that the defendant had previously been convicted of similar crimes and for theft (Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). For the totality of the offenses, he was sentenced to 6 months of imprisonment to be served in a strict regime colony. Until the sentence comes into legal force, the man will remain in custody.
