Kirov heating networks are 22% ready for winter, residential fund is 33% ready.
In the Kirov region, preparations for the heating season of 2026-2027 are ongoing. The Minister of Energy and Housing and Utilities, Maxim Gornostayev, reported on the progress of the work at a meeting of the Legislative Assembly committee.
As of July 1, 2026, the readiness of the housing stock is 33% (the plan is 26.3 million square meters). The readiness of heat supply sources is at 26% — a total of 1,145 facilities need to be prepared. The lowest indicator is recorded for heat networks: only 22% of the plan has been completed (a total of 1,921.1 kilometers of networks need to be prepared). At the same time, the readiness of water supply networks has reached 65% (the plan is 7,446.7 kilometers).
The minister also reported that 86 activities are planned in 17 municipalities as part of the preparation for the autumn-winter period, with a total amount of 170.5 million rubles. The funds will be directed towards the capital repair of sections of heat and water supply networks, the replacement of boiler equipment, and other works.
In addition, the implementation of the federal project "Modernization of Communal Infrastructure" continues in the region. For these purposes, 498 million rubles are allocated. Eight activities are planned in seven municipalities, including the repair of 0.4 kilometers of heat supply networks, 33.9 kilometers of water supply networks, and 15.8 kilometers of wastewater networks.
Special attention is being paid to the conversion of boiler houses to natural gas. Such activities are planned in nine municipalities.
Fuel preparation is also underway. As of July 17, 2026, coal reserves amount to about 20% of the approved norm, other solid fuels — 73%, and fuel oil — 67%. The region's needs for the heating season are estimated at approximately 136 thousand tons of coal, 393 thousand cubic meters of other solid fuels, and 16 thousand tons of fuel oil.
