The State Labor Inspection in the Kirov region has published the results of the investigation into the accident that occurred with a cleaner in service premises. The woman exited through the emergency exit onto the fire escape, lost her footing, and fell onto the asphalt concrete surface. The injuries sustained were severe: medical professionals recorded a concussion and a contused wound to the soft tissues of the face.
The agency noted that the immediate cause of the incident was the carelessness of the worker herself. However, during the inspection, inspectors identified multiple violations of labor protection requirements by the employer, which could not fail to affect the circumstances of the incident.
As reported by the Deputy Head of the State Labor Inspection, A. D. Loginov, it was established that the employee was not provided with personal protective equipment in full. In addition, the enterprise lacked a professional risk assessment, measures to protect against potential hazards were not developed, and training on labor protection was not conducted in accordance with legal requirements.
The press service of the State Labor Inspection for the Kirov region added that as a result of the investigation, the employer will need to rectify the identified violations.
