A Kirov resident, recognized as a foreign agent, has been fined again for violating the law.
The Savelovsky District Court of Moscow has fined journalist Zhanna Agalakova*, a native of Kirov, 50,000 rubles in absentia. This was reported by the court's press service.
The court found her guilty under part 2 of article 19.34 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of the procedure for the activities of a foreign agent").
Zhanna Agalakova was born in Kirov in 1965. She gained fame as a correspondent and television presenter, working at the NTV channel from 1996 to 1999, and then for more than 20 years at the "First Channel," where she worked until 2022.
This is not the first such punishment. In November of last year, the journalist was also held administratively liable under the same article. At that time, the court imposed a fine of 30,000 rubles on her.
Zhanna Agalakova* was included in the register of foreign agents by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation on February 21, 2025. According to the agency, the basis for this was the dissemination of materials from foreign agents, the publication of false information about the activities of Russian authorities, as well as statements against the special military operation.
