The Slobodskoy District Court found the 36-year-old head of a construction organization guilty of fraud during the capital repair of cultural facilities in the Belokholunitsky District.
As reported by the Prosecutor's Office of the Kirov Region, in the spring of 2024, the company led by the defendant signed contracts for the capital repair of a culture house and a children's art school. However, the contractor did not fulfill its obligations.
At the same time, the head of the firm provided the customer with fictitious documents allegedly confirming the purchase of construction materials worth more than 3.6 million rubles. He embezzled the money received.
The court found the man guilty under the articles on fraud and sentenced him to 4 years and 6 months of imprisonment in a general regime colony. After the verdict was announced, he was taken into custody right in the courtroom.
The convicted person attempted to appeal the decision, but the Kirov Regional Court upheld the sentence.
The prosecutor's office noted that part of the damage caused was compensated through a bank guarantee, and the remaining funds were recovered by the customers through the Arbitration Court of the Kirov Region. The capital repair of the culture house and the children's art school was subsequently completed by another construction organization as part of the national project "Culture."
